About Me

I started gymnastics at 18 months old and trained elite for three years before focusing my goals on collegiate gymnastics. I committed to Iowa State University and was privileged to be a Division 1 gymnast for five years. It was during my tenure at ISU, I faced my most difficult challenges.

As they say, obstacles are the path to finding who we are and who we want to be.

My sophomore year, I sustained an ankle break before the first meet of the season, which was my first real injury. I fought back and was able to compete and contribute on beam by mid-season. In December, the following year I ruptured my Achilles’ during practice, which put me out my entire junior season.

I was down but not out, and I was determined to still contribute to our team in a way that was as impactful as any high score.

I did not know at the time that this injury would change my life in more ways than one.

Early in the season, I rented a camera on campus and asked my coach if I could film during our meets to assist by creating hype videos. For the rest of the 2017-2018 season, I took on the role as our team’s videographer with the goal of capturing the true heart and passion our team carried that year. It was an amazing experience that took away the negativity of the major injury I had sustained and even led me to an incredible two-year internship on campus at Cyclones .TV.

I was the first-ever student-athlete to take on the internship while still using my eligibility as a collegiate athlete. It was such a unique opportunity to film other sports while simultaneously competing in one. It required an immense amount of work and commitment, but the skills and knowledge I gained from my Cyclones.TV family has helped me to get to where I am today.

Cyclones.TV Work Highlights:

  • Produced quality videos pieces for nine of the seventeen sports at Iowa State
  • Conceptualized, captured, and edited creative videos to showcase interviews and recaps
  • Promoted Iowa State sports teams through hype videos to create an appeal to fans and prospective student-athletes
  • Cut highlight melt reels from TV broadcasts and in-house videoboard productions
  • Edited game footage to create highlight features to promote the Iowa State brand

Since working at Cyclones.TV, I’ve worked as a freelance contractor with other corporations such as Premier Athletic Training, Sunset Pink Publishing, Camp Abilities. I have also shot and produced wedding videos, NFL videos, and other various hype videos.

Much like gymnastics has for the last 20 years, in tearing my Achilles, videography has become my new passion. It was only through experiencing this loss, that I discovered I wanted to do this the rest of my life.

The foundation of my work now comes from a place of ALL HEART. It was with my whole heart that I learned how passionate I am about telling the story of the 2018 gymnastics team, and reflecting their love for and commitment to the sport.

I  am so grateful that is where my story has roots and began because my mission and vision are to bring that same energy to every video I create, every project I work on.

That is what sets me apart from others.

I am a firm believer that passion will take you anywhere and that is why I always commit to giving

ALL HEART THROUGH MY LENS .
